Dean Street Law is a women-owned and operated firm, dedicated to providing a rewarding experience through our internship program. Our team works closely to support one another and ultimately serve our clients. We love working with companies that range from privately owned small entities to Fortune 500 companies in the finance, IT, real estate, manufacturing and pharmaceutical sectors. Here at Dean Street Law, we value work-life balance, sustainability, health and wellness, and individuality.
We have a promote from within culture, and all full time and part time positions are offered to graduates of our internship program. Our internship program focuses on education, skill and portfolio development so our alumni develop significant expertise in their area of focus and feel confident taking full ownership of the excellence of this area in their career pursuits. Who may apply for the Legal Internship positions?Only students currently enrolled in an ABA approved law school may apply for the Legal Internship position.

When are deadlines to submit my application?Fall Application Deadline: June 1 Spring Application Deadline: November 1 Summer Application Deadline: March 1 We will not accept applications after the deadline so please be sure to submit your materials prior if you wish to complete your internship during a specific semester.

What should I include in my application materials?Please submit a resume and cover letter. Examples of your work are not required but may also be included in your submission as applicable.

When may the internship be completed?The internship may take place during the fall, spring, or summer semester.

How long is the internship period?The internship is 4 months at 20 hours per week.

Is this a paid position?The internship is unpaid, however, you are welcome to apply for course credit with your school. Our firm works diligently to help you maintain your credit requirements throughout the internship.

Is the internship in person or remote?The internship is in person at our office location in West Chester, PA.

Is there an interview process?Once you submit your application, our hiring team will review your resume and cover letter. After review, we will bring you in for an in person interview to get a better idea of who you are and discuss the internship in further detail.

What are your expectations for interns during the internship?At Dean Street Law, we expect an uncompromising standard of excellence and a high level of professionalism, work ethic and work product quality. Our team is expected to treat others with kindness and consideration, to listen and learn from management, and to appreciate to the welcoming, inclusive and untraditional work environment that we promote. Our firm does not tolerate any instances of negativity or unprofessionalism.

What work should I expect to be completing during the internship?Here at Dean Street Law, we have a strong commitment to learning. We offer students an opportunity to gain exposure to the inner workings of a law firm and gain experience in the legal field. Students that participate in our program will work directly with the company’s CEO and Founder, working on legal matters for both clients and in house operations. You will not be getting coffees or copying files all day long, however, all team members are expected to assist in our daily work which can include office related tasks as is the same for every law firm. Our interns are expected to pitch in without complaint and appreciate the work being done.

Will the firm work around my school schedule?Yes, of course. Your education is the most important thing and should be treated as such. If you are accepted to the program, you will send us your class schedule and we will assign you your internship schedule around that. If you internship period falls under two separate semesters, we will accommodate both semester schedules.

What are some tasks that I will be completing during my internship?Tasks may change everyday, especially if the firm is met with an influx of client work, however, we do have non negotiable daily tasks that must be completed as well as general responsibilities. These include: Supporting the legal team in all business areas Participating in a variety of legal special projects that gain exposure for better understanding of corporate law Assisting in drafting client resources, letters, legal forms, and other documents Conducting legal research Maintaining and organizing charts and files Contract and document management to manage client expectations and track progress Assisting team with any other administrative needs Extending these responsibilities to support the legal product development for Laura DiFrancesco LLC

Am I able to apply for school credit?Yes, however, you must complete the entirety of the internship to receive credit and endorsement from both Dean Street Law and your law school. If the internship is not completed its in entirety, you will not receive credit.
